I turned the 3D data of “Vehicles,” included as a sample in the low-polygon modeling tool picoCAD, into paper models. picoCAD is a small and cute CAD software. https://picocad.net/ It might be perfect for creating papercraft data. Before printing, I recommend turning off the “Appearance – Smooth texture display” option in Pepakura Designer to make the texture look like pixel art. * The 3D data is used with permission from picoCAD. The papercraft data was created by Jun Mitani.
From the same unfolded pattern, you can make three different boxes! In the 3D window of Pepakura Designer, you can see three boxes with different shapes. However, the three unfolded patterns shown in the pattern window all have the same shape. This very interesting fact was researched by Prof. Uehara. Many people may know the drama “Shogun,” which won many awards in 2024. Let’s experience the world of ancient Japanese warriors by using a paper craft template to make a samurai helmet (kabuto).
The robot model included as a sample in Pepakura Designer is like the mascot of the software.
This model of a sports car is provided as sample data for Pepakura Designer.
